Today, I’m going to share with you one of my all-time favorite recipes: Chef Sven’s Magnificent Meatball Stromboli. This delicious dish combines the flavors of tender meatballs, melted cheese, and savory marinara sauce all wrapped up in a golden crust. It’s the perfect comfort food for any occasion!

Now, you may be wondering how I came up with the idea for this delectable creation. Well, it all started back in my TV chef days. I was hosting a cooking show called ‘Sven’s Kitchen Adventures,’ and I wanted to come up with a recipe that would wow my audience.

One day, I was reminiscing about the time I visited Italy and tried the famous Stromboli. It was love at first bite! I knew I had to make my own version with a unique twist. And that’s when it hit me: why not replace the usual fillings with my mouthwatering homemade meatballs?

I went straight to work, combining the flavors of my classic Swedish meatballs with the traditional Stromboli ingredients. The result was sheer perfection. The tender meatballs, smothered in marinara sauce and gooey cheese, were encased in a fluffy pizza dough and baked to golden perfection.

I couldn’t wait to share this recipe with my viewers, and it quickly became one of the most requested dishes on the show. And now, I’m sharing it with you!

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to form a rectangle.
  6. Spread the marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  8. Arrange the meatballs evenly on top of the cheese.
  9. Carefully roll up the dough, starting from one of the long sides, to enclose the filling.
  10. Place the stromboli seam-side down on a greased baking sheet.
  11. Brush the top of the stromboli with olive oil.
  12. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  13. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  14. Serve warm and enjoy!
