Introduction
Let me tell you a little story about my love for grilled salmon. As a young boy growing up in Sweden, my family would often go fishing in the pristine rivers and lakes near our home. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of reeling in a big salmon and then cooking it up for dinner.
One summer, we went on a fishing trip to a remote mountain lake. It was a beautiful day, and we had high hopes of catching some delicious salmon. However, luck was not on our side that day. After hours of patiently waiting, we didn’t catch a single fish!
But being the resourceful chef that I am, I had a backup plan. I had brought along some fresh salmon fillets from the market, just in case. So, instead of going home empty-handed, we decided to set up a grill by the lake and cook up those fillets. And let me tell you, it was the best impromptu meal we ever had!
Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Lemon Dill Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Rub the salmon fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the salmon fillets on the grill, skin side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- While the salmon is cooking, prepare the lemon dill sauce by combining mayonnaise, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Stir until well combined.
- Remove the salmon from the grill and serve with the lemon dill sauce on the side.
