Introduction

Let me tell you a little story about my love for grilled salmon. As a young boy growing up in Sweden, my family would often go fishing in the pristine rivers and lakes near our home. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of reeling in a big salmon and then cooking it up for dinner.

One summer, we went on a fishing trip to a remote mountain lake. It was a beautiful day, and we had high hopes of catching some delicious salmon. However, luck was not on our side that day. After hours of patiently waiting, we didn’t catch a single fish!

But being the resourceful chef that I am, I had a backup plan. I had brought along some fresh salmon fillets from the market, just in case. So, instead of going home empty-handed, we decided to set up a grill by the lake and cook up those fillets. And let me tell you, it was the best impromptu meal we ever had!

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Rub the salmon fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the grill, skin side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  4. While the salmon is cooking, prepare the lemon dill sauce by combining mayonnaise, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Stir until well combined.
  5. Remove the salmon from the grill and serve with the lemon dill sauce on the side.
