A mouthwatering image of Classic Swedish Meatballs topped with lingonberry sauce and served with mashed potatoes.

Today, I want to share with you one of my all-time favorite recipes: Classic Swedish Meatballs. These delicious little bites of heaven are perfect for any occasion, whether you’re hosting a dinner party or just want to treat yourself to a comforting meal. The best part? They’re surprisingly easy to make! So let’s get started.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried parsley, dried thyme, ground allspice, ground nutmeg, salt, black pepper, and beaten egg.

  2. Mix everything together until well combined. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty and really get in there!

  3. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get around 40 meatballs.

  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Working in batches, add the meatballs to the skillet and brown them on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  5. Once the meatballs are browned, remove them from the skillet and set them aside.

  6. In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of flour and whisk until smooth.

  7. Gradually whisk in 1 1/2 cups of beef broth and continue whisking until the mixture thickens slightly.

  8. Stir in 1/2 cup of heavy cream and bring the mixture to a simmer.

  9. Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.

  10. Serve the meatballs hot with lingonberry sauce and mashed potatoes for a truly authentic Swedish experience.

I hope you enjoy making and eating these classic Swedish meatballs as much as I do. They’re a true labor of love, and I know they’ll bring a smile to your face with every bite. Happy cooking!
